2. Building Global Peace: Regional Efforts to Achieve Peace (REAP):
The Toda Institute is developing distinctive regional contributions towards global peace. Our Senior Research Fellows have begun preparations to hold three workshops aimed at developing new regional research and practice agendas for the 21st century. These projects will build on the research expertise of each fellow and bring together key experts to map out policy and practice concerns for the 21st century. The first series of conferences is planned for 2011. It will be a series of linked regional initiatives to prevent conflict and enable more effective post conflict interventions, reassert the role of religious sanctuaries in peacebuilding and to design new European regional security architecture for the 21st century.
